AADF2026 Community Day
Part of the larger AADF2026 festival, Community Day celebrates the diversity of our AAPI communities through dance. As an embodied practice, dance is a powerful way to express ourselves, to tell our stories, and to commune, engage with, and uplift one another. Planned as an outdoor and all-day FREE event, Community Day will be a fun and engaging experience for everyone...bring a blanket, beach chair, picnic, and enjoy the day with us!
Performances and classes will take place on the City Heights Performance Annex stage, facing out towards the Jeremy Henwood Memorial Park. Organizations and businesses will have booths set up along the edge of the park, offering information and fun activities.

Performers
Local AAPI students and community dance/movement artists of all ages are invited to share short pieces alongside cultural dance/movement troupes, representing the broad diversity of the Asian and Pacific Islander diaspora.
We welcome groups and individual dance/movement artists of all styles - hip hop, k-pop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, modern, traditional cultural dance, martial arts, etc.
Cultural dance/movement artists may also offer classes from the stage for audiences to participate in.

Organizations
As a festival that honors AAPI communities and works to amplify their voices and identities, we are looking for culturally relevant nonprofit organizations and businesses who work to expand their reach and access to critical resources to the AAPI community.
Booth space is available for community organizations and businesses who'd like to distribute information and/or offer family friendly activities.
