MEET THE DANCE MAKERS (alphabetical order)
grace shinhae jun
grace shinhae jun (she/her) is a mother, wife, educator, and mover. She is the daughter of a South Korean immigrant and a North Korean refugee, and the founder of bkSOUL performance company (2001). Her research and artistic practices are grounded in Hip Hop culture and cross cultural collaborations that honor her ancestral lineage. She co-organized the 2025 Show & Prove Hip Hop Studies Conference and co-directs AADF. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she is currently an Assistant Professor of Dance at San Diego City College and teaches with transcenDANCE Youth Arts. She also educates at UCSD, where she was the recipient of the 2022/2023 Barbara and Paul Saltman Distinguished Teaching Award. She is most grateful to her husband Dr. Jesse Mills and their two children who keep her grounded and full of joy.

Kimie Parker
Kimie Parker is a dance artist, choreographer, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY, originally from San Diego, CA. Since earning her BFA in Dance from Point Park University in 2019, she has been a longstanding company member of Sidra Bell Dance New York, where she was appointed Rehearsal Director in 2022. Kimie has assisted Bell and taught on behalf of the company at institutions including Harvard University, The Juilliard School, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Springboard Danse, The University of the Arts, and many more. As a freelance performer, she has collaborated with artists including Ayoung Kim, Mark Caserta, Mamie Green of Volta Collective, Kanon Sugino, and Doron Perk. As a choreographer, Kimie has presented work at Triskelion Arts, ODC San Francisco’s “State of Play” Festival, Heat Index, LUNGS Harvest Arts Festival, and BigKid Summer Create + Connect. She was also part of THAT SHOW's inaugural choreographic cohort.

aisha reddick & Odessa Mae Uno
aisha reddick (she/her) is a movement artist based in San Diego, California. After graduating from California State University, Long Beach, she found her way through the San Diego dance landscape, gravitating toward spaces that nurtured her artistic curiosity and deepened her commitment to the craft. Along the way, aisha has had the pleasure of collaborating with a range of independent artists, companies, studios, and schools across San Diego and Los Angeles, each experience contributing to the evolution of her voice as both a dancer and creator. In 2025, aisha served as Dance Director at Helix Charter High School, where she guided students through diverse approaches to movement-making and creative exploration. Though her time there was brief, it reinforced the value of community-centered support, student-driven learning, and the importance of cultivating environments where artistic expression can grow without limitation. Today, aisha is devoted to rediscovering herself as an artist and redefining her place within the San Diego dance community. Through continued exploration, collaboration, and reflection, she remains committed to expanding her practice and embracing new possibilities. aisha is a teaching artist at Culture Shock San Diego and DISCO RIOT, and is an Emerging Artist in Residence for Dance with Arts District Liberty Station.

Odessa Uno (she/her/hers) is a movement based Filipino American artist based in Southern California. She received her BFA in Dance from California Institute of the Arts where she studied performance, choreography, and pedagogy. Her choreographic commissions include works for Malashock Dance, San Diego Dance Theater, DISCO RIOT, Canyon Crest Academy, Coronado School of the Arts, and the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. In 2021, she was recipient of San Diego Dance Theater’s Emerging Choreographers Showcase and Prize. She is currently a Dance Lecturer at San Diego State University. Currently, Odessa is an Emerging Artist in Residence for Dance with Arts District Liberty Station
Odessa's artistic practice is rooted in the belief that movement has the power to foster crucial social connection by creating space for people to share their stories, support one another, and strengthen communities. She views dance as a tool for cultivating critical thinking, embodied adaptability, and emotional awareness. Through dance, she encourages thoughtful engagement with others, nurturing empathy that extends far beyond the studio. At the heart of all of her work
is a deep commitment to community, connection, and integrity.

Adie San Diego
Adie San Diego is a Filipina-American choreographer and dance artist based in Los Angeles. Her training began at Carolina Dance Center in Raleigh, NC, being exposed to heavy classical training and street styles. She later earned a BFA in Dance from Point Park University, where she performed works by renowned choreographers including Nacho Duato, Kyle Abraham, and Yin Yue. Following her undergraduate studies, Adie worked as a freelance performer in Pittsburgh and North Carolina, working with artists such as Beth Gill and Joanna Kotze at the American Dance Festival. Wanting to dive deeper into her practice, Adie moved to California to pursue an MFA in Choreography at the California Institute of the Arts. Her choreographic work has since been presented in Pittsburgh, San Diego, and Los Angeles. Notably, she was selected as an artist-in-residence with the Asian American Dance Festival in 2025 and the CalArts Reef Residency in Los Angeles in 2026. Beyond her performance and choreographic career, Adie is the founder of BALLET4LYFE, a community-focused initiative providing beginner-intermediate ballet classes for adults in LA. Throughout her career, Adie continues to bridge the gap between rigorous technical training and inclusive community dance spaces.
