Check out past ChoreoWrecks!

Two San Diego choreographers (the wreckees) offer up their works-in-progress to the "wrecking" process. We've invited four other dance artists (the wreckers) who practice in a variety of dance genres to play with the work and remake it live, in front of an audience! This is a rare opportunity for audiences to witness the creative process of dance making. Learn more about "wrecking".
Each wreckee has 2 hours to go through the entire wrecking process (two wreckings each). The wreckee first presents the original work. Then their two wreckers will each get 45 minutes to remake the dance on the wreckee, followed by a showing of that remake. After each wreckee’s full session, there will be a short "talk back" with artists and audience.
There is a 50 minute break between the two wreckee sessions.

Devin Hargrett is a dance artist/educator whose work blends contemporary and hip hop movement influences, drawing from experiences in both concert dance and commercial styles. As both an educator and choreographer, Devin is passionate about creating environments where dancers are encouraged to move beyond perceived limitations, embrace curiosity, and discover possibilities they may not have imagined for themselves. Devin believes dance is more than the shapes we create—it is the process of bringing our internal world into the external, transforming thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences into movement that allows others to not only witness them, but to feel them.
